Actes des congrès de la Société des historiens médiévistes de l'enseignement supérieur public
Fondée en 1969 par Édouard Perroy, la Société des historiens médiévistes de l’Enseignement supérieur public réunit la plupart des acteurs français de l’enseignement supérieur et de la recherche en histoire médiévale. La SHMESP organise, depuis 1970, un congrès scientifique annuel dont les actes sont édités par les Publications de la Sorbonne depuis 1992. Ces congrès se sont plusieurs fois tenus dans des instituts français à l’étranger (Rome, Göttingen, Madrid, Istanbul, Le Caire, etc.), ce qui a favorisé les échanges avec d’autres écoles historiques. Chaque volume se rapporte à un thème précis mais large, permettant d’illustrer la thématique à travers toutes les périodes et tous les espaces de l’histoire du Moyen Âge.

From the journal’s founding in 1929 under the original title, Annales d’histoire économique et sociale (Annals of Economic and Social History) to its current name, Annales. Histoire, Sciences Sociales (Annals. History and Social Science), this is the collection of history journals par excellence.

Annales de géographie
For over a century, the Annales de géographie have published the works of the greatest French and international geographers, and attest to geography's evolution and discoveries.

Annales d'Éthiopie
Since 1955, the Annales d'Ethiopie renders an account of the researches lead by French and Ethiopian scholars in archaeology and history. At the beginning, this journal laid the results of the excavations ant the field researches of the team of the French archaeological mission in Ethiopia. The publication was suspended during ten years between 1990 and 2000 (vol. XV, 1990 and vol XVI, 2000). The French Centre for Ethiopian Studies then opens the journal to all the human and social sciences. Nowadays, the Annales d'Ethiopie gets an international scope, publishing papers in French and in English on Ethiopia and on the Horn of Africa. This journal is now one the two international journals devoted to the researches lead in this part of the Eastern Africa.

Annales historiques de la Révolution française
The Annales historiques de la Révolution française is the only French and international review devoted to the study of the Revolution. Subscribers receive four issues per year, or one annual volume, totaling 1000 pages. Issues alternate between those devoted to a specific theme, and those presenting articles and primary documents on a range of subjects. In addition, each volume contains a selection of books reviews, a list of defended dissertations, announcements of upcoming conferences and seminars, and an annual index of articles on the revolutionary period appearing in other journals. Indexes and tables are published separately every ten years in order to facilitate the consultation of volumes of the Annales published since 1908, all of which are available in reprint or original edition.

L’Annuaire des Collectivités Locales a été publié régulièrement chaque année depuis 1980. Cet ouvrage annuel regroupe des articles et études effectuées par les chercheurs de la communauté scientifique liée au GRALE sur des sujets intéressant l'administration territoriale et les aspect territorialisés de l'action publique, dans une large diversité de disciplines (droit public, économie, gestion, histoire, science politique, sociologie).

Annuaire Français de Droit International
The Annuaire français de droit international (AFDI) was created in 1955 at Professor Suzanne Bastid’s initiative and accordingly to the wish of the French Group of former auditeurs at The Hague Academy of International Law. The AFDI is one of the two French periodicals to concentrate exclusively on International Law, and the only one to comment in a systematic way the main events included in its scope. With regards to French Law literature, it appears to be a must-read for every International Law practitioner who wishes to get informations about any documentation, publications and references that have occured in a specific year.

Arts Asiatiques
Arts asiatiques a repris la tâche qu'avait assumée la Revue des Arts asiatiques, fondée en 1924. Après une interruption due à la deuxième guerre mondiale, cette revue a repris, sous l'égide des Musées Guimet et Cernuschi, son rôle d'information. Cahiers d'Études Hispaniques Médiévales
Journal created in 1976 by Jean Roudil with the title Cahiers de linguistique hispanique médiévale, dedicated, originally, to the linguistic studies on medieval Spanish. Afterward, at Georges Martin's instigation, the journal expanded its themes to the studies of civilization and literary history on the medieval Iberic peninsula, becoming in 2001 the Cahiers de Linguistique et Civilisation hispaniques médiévales. Published, at first, by the Séminaire d’études médiévales hispaniques of the University Paris XIII, the journal was distributed for a long time by Klincksieck, before being finally published by ENS Éditions (Lyon). At present, the journal benefits from the financial and logistic support of the ENS de Lyon, the CIHAM (UMR 5648, CNRS) and AILP (GDRE 671, CNRS). Since 1976, 32 numbers have been published along with 17 volumes of appendices; the latter make of this publication one of the most important journal of the world in its speciality.

Cahiers d’Extrême-Asie
Cahiers d’Extrême-Asie is a bilingual (English and French) scholarly journal founded in 1985 by Anna Seidel and Hubert Durt specializing in religious studies and intellectual history of East Asia. Each issue is a thematic one dealing with East Asian religions. Subjects that have been covered so far reach from Daoism and ancient Chinese religion to Korean shamanism and the various Buddhist schools of China and Japan. More recently a volume was published about Tibetan intellectual history.

Créée en 1968 par F. Richaudeau, Communication & Langages s’attache à en décrypter les évolutions fondamentales. Ces cinq dernières années, la revue s’est imposée comme la revue de référence de la communauté des sciences de l’information et de la communication. Communications
Communications is a social sciences journal whose thematic issues are published twice-yearly. It was created in 1961 by Georges Friedmann, Roland Barthes, and Edgar Morin. After becoming a reference publication for media studies and semiotics in France, it quickly won an international readership. Since the 1980s, it has been widening its topics to anthropological and sociological research. Contributors include prominent international social theorists and scientists as well as young scholars. It privileges groundbreaking researches and a thoroughly transdisciplinary approach.

Comptes-rendus des séances de l'Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres
The Comptes rendus de l’Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres are the major publication of the Academy dating from 1857. They gather all the texts of the papers, information notes, reports and books presented during the weekly Friday séances. The authors are internationally renowned scholars or members of the AIBL presenting the results of their ongoing research or new synthesis. The sphere of the Academy’s competence is extremely wide, from a geographic and historical point of view. It focuses on all the fields of the human sciences, from the prehistoric to the classical period, regarding the European as well as the non-European civilizations.

Critique internationale
Hosted by the CERI since its creation in 1998, Critique internationale features hitherto unpublished articles whose goal is to contribute to the analysis of international relations and the political, economic and social trends current outside of France.

Économie et Statistique
A monthly journal containing the economic analyses that become the authoritative references in public discussions, Économie et Statistique reports original research findings in the form of single articles or special multi-article features. These studies combine theoretical approaches and factual observation. They cast new light on national and international economic phenomena, and on the major issues being debated in French society.

Économie rurale
Cette publication bimestrielle, organe de la Société Française d'Economie Rurale, a paru jusqu'en 1953 sous le titre de Bulletin de la Société Française d'Economie Rurale. Depuis 1953, le titre a été raccourci. Economie Rurale publie les comptes rendus des séances de travail de la Société ainsi que des articles originaux et des comptes rendus bibliographiques.

Extrême-Orient, Extrême-Occident
Each issue of Extrême-Orient Extrême-Occident is devoted to a single theme or a central question dealing with Chinese civilisation and its cultural sphere of influence (Korea, Japan, Vietnam). Recent issues focused on divination, garden culture, judgement, entertainment and the existence of a Chinese philosophy. Contributors examine a common topic from a wide variety of angles and disciplinary approaches. Each volume concludes with an « exterior viewpoint » which offers a comparative comment on the subjects explored through the lens of Western traditions.

Faits de langues
Faits de langues' editorial line emphasizes the diversity of languages and analytic viewpoints. 'Thematic' issues dealing with a fundamental question (person, number...) alternate with 'geographic' issues describing linguistic facts common to closely related languages which are not necessarily members of the same linguistic family.

Gallia
Créée par le CNRS, la revue Gallia est, depuis plus d’un demi-siècle, la grande revue de l’archéologie nationale, réputée pour la rigueur de ses textes et la qualité de ses illustrations. Gallia publie des dossiers et des articles de synthèse sur les découvertes et les recherches les plus signifiantes dans le domaine de l’archéologie en France. Son champ chronologique couvre la Protohistoire depuis le premier âge du Fer, l’Antiquité et l’Antiquité tardive jusqu’à la fin des royaumes mérovingiens. Son champ géographique correspond à l’ancien espace gaulois et comprend les Trois Gaules ainsi que les territoires immédiatement limitrophes qui participent à leur destinée. En ce sens, Gallia accueille des articles sur des sites ou des découvertes majeures en France mais aussi dans les pays voisins si leur intérêt concerne la Gaule en général.

Géocarrefour
Founded in 1927, Géocarrefour (formerly Études Rhodaniennes and later, Revue de Géographie de Lyon) is one of the oldest French geographical journals. It is published by the "Association of the Friends of the Revue de Géographie de Lyon".

Géomorphologie : relief, processus, environnement
Géomorphologie : relief, processus, environnement was started in 1995 and receives backing from the Conseil National de la Recherche Scientifique. It is the official journal of the Groupe français de Géomorphologie, which has been overseeing its publication since 1998, and is the successor to the Revue de Géomorphologie dynamique.

Histoire, économie & société
Histoire, économie & société was founded in 1982 by Professors P. Chaunu and A. Corvisier. Open to all historical currents and fields, this journal is oriented towards the study of economical questions and social phenomena.

Histoire & Mesure
Histoire & Mesure explores the history of statistics and measurement practices; it also publishes papers using statistical, formal or quantitative methods as a tool for historical research, whatever the period and theme studied.

Journal de la société des américanistes
Created in 1895, the Journal de la Société des Américanistes (JSA) is a scientific journal devoted to the study of American Indian societies and cultures, from their origins until today. The journal receives financial backing from the CNRS and the CNL. From 2000 on, its issues are available on revues.org with a restriction period of four years.

Journal de la Société des Océanistes
Le Journal de la Société des Océanistes (JSO), revue pluridisciplinaire qui existe depuis les années 1950, a vocation de publier tout article scientifique concernant l'Océanie (au sens large) et plus spécialement ceux relatifs au présent et au passé de ses populations. Le JSO publie deux numéros par an (ou un numéro double) avec l’aide de CNRS et du CNL.

Journal des Africanistes
The Journal de la Société des africanistes, created in 1931, was renamed Journal des africanistes in 1976. It includes articles written by specialists of Africa (anthropologists, archaeologists, linguists, etc.), special issues and book reviews.

Journal des Savants
The Journal des Savants is the oldest literary journal in Europe. Founded in 1665 by Denis de Sallo, adviser to the Parliament of Paris, under the tutelage of Colbert, it enjoyed royal patronage in 1701. Suspended in 1792, the publication was restored and reorganized in 1816: until 1900 it was printed at the public expense by a board chaired first by the Minister of Justice, then by the Minister of Education and only the members of the Institut were allowed to publish in it. Doomed to disappear again because of budgetary restrictions, the Institut de France, which had been assuming the printing costs from 1901 to 1902, as a matter of course resumed the role of the State. However, as it was unable to provide permanently for the publication of the Journal des Savants, the Institut de France offered the Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres to take over this responsibility that she endorsed from 1909 with subsides from the Foundation Dourlans. Having been under the responsibility of the sole Académie from that time onwards, the Journal des Savants publishes original papers representing significant breakthroughs in the fields within its domain, from the points of view of their methods as well as their results.

Langages
Launched in 1966 by Roland Barthes among others, Langages has unceasingly forwarded and informed the fundamental trends in the language sciences.

Langue française
As indicated by its title, Langue française publishes articles by scholars of the French language. It is mainly concerned with contemporary theories in French linguistics.

L'Année psychologique
Founded in 1894 by Henri Beaunis and Alfred Binet, L'Année Psychologique was amongst the first journals exclusively devoted to psychology as a science published in the world. Since then, it has been the French-speaking reference in the field. Since 2006, Armand Colin publishes the journal.

L'Homme
Founded in 1961 by Claude Lévi-Strauss, this journal of general anthropology publishes works on cultural trends throughout the world and is open to interdisciplinary dialogue with other subjects in the human sciences, such as linguistics, geography and prehistory.

Livraisons d'histoire de l'architecture
Livraisons d'histoire de l'architecture publishes new work by graduate students and beginning scholars. Organized into theme issues, the journal also provides information on current events in the field and publishes critical reviews.

Matériaux pour l'histoire de notre temps
This journal in contemporary history is published by BDIC and BDIC’ s and Museum friends association. It publishes novating studies by foreign and French researchers, about international relations and contemporary world.

Médiévales
Créée en 1982, la revue semestrielle Médiévales publie des articles en français sur tous les aspects du Moyen Âge : histoire, littérature et linguistique mais aussi droit, archéologie et histoire de l’art. Ses colonnes sont ouvertes aux débutants comme aux chercheurs confirmés.

Mélanges de la Casa de Velázquez
Created in 1965, Mélanges de la Casa de Velázquez, the journal of the École des hautes études hispaniques et ibériques (EHEHI), covers a broad range of geographical areas (Spain, Portugal, Latin America and the Maghrib) and fields (history, archaeology, literature, geography, sociology, anthropology, linguistics, etc.) from Antiquity to the present day. An international bilingual journal, the Mélanges particularly encourage scientific exchanges between French and Spanish researchers. Between 1990 and 1996 the journal was published annually in three parts, each dealing with separate periods (Antiquity and the Middle Ages, the Modern Age and the Contemporary Age). In 2003 the division into periods was abandoned and a cross-disciplinary approach was encouraged, with two regular annual issues. This twofold decompartmentalisation —of periods and specialities— is in line with the general trend in research and is reflected in the thematic dossier and in the miscellany section. Each volume concludes with a section titled “the latest research” with historiographic reports, reviews of works, scientific news, an archaeological chronicle and summaries of recent theses by former members of the school.

Mélanges de l'école française de Rome
Ranging from the Mélanges d'archéologie et d'histoire to the Mélanges de l'École française de Rome, this journal, started in 1881, publishes studies in history and archeology, centered on Italy and the western basin of the Mediterranean, from ancient times to the present.

Mètis. Anthropologie des mondes grecs anciens
Mètis est née d'une collaboration entre hellénistes grecs et français, autour des orientations de Jean-Pierre Vernant, Pierre Vidal-Naquet et Nicole Loraux, dans le Centre de recherches comparées sur les sociétés anciennes (devenu Louis-Gernet). Dans la perspective d'une anthropologie historique centrée sur l’antiquité grecque, elle s’est récemment élargie à l’étude des mondes anciens, en particulier grec et romain. Tout en intégrant les disciplines érudites (philologie, histoire, archéologie, épigraphie, etc.), elle s’applique à prendre en compte des apports des sciences sociales (ethnologie, sociologie, linguistique, psychologie, psychanalyse). Soucieuse de refléter les avancées de la réflexion scientifique, elle accueille jeunes chercheurs et savants confirmés, dont les travaux concourent à diversifier les données, renouveler les objets et les méthodes d’analyse, afin d’enrichir les connaissances relatives aux mondes anciens.

The review ambition is to explore intellectual history (1870-1930). Its numbers are organised around specific themes. They carry unedited documents. The review was formerly entitled Cahiers Georges Sorel, and under its new title it still gives privileged place to Sorelian studies.

Mots. Les langages du politique
Mots. Les langages du politique (ENS-Editions) is a journal dedicated to analysing the various dimensions in the interaction of language and politics. It was founded in 1980 by Louis Bodin and Maurice Tournier.

Paléo, Revue d'Archéologie Préhistorique
To give a support to the edition specialized in Palaeolithic Prehistory, the journal Paleo was founded in 1989 at the Musée national de Préhistoire by la Société des Amis du Musée national de Préhistoire et de la Recherche Archéologique (SAMRA), in Les Eyzies (Dordogne, France). Paleo receives, without any restriction of geographical zone, all original papers in various subdisciplines of the Palaeolithic research : Palaeolithic art, Palaeoanthropology, Palaeoenvironment, Geoarchaeology, Archaeozoology, Experimental archaeology, Methodology, Conservation techniques of all of remains.

Paléorient
Paléorient, a CNRS International pluridisciplinary journal, is dedicated to the prehistory and protohistory of South-West and Central Asia.. It concerns the evolution of Man and of his environment in these regions.

Perspectives Chinoises
Fondée en 1992 la revue Perspectives chinoises / China Perspectives analyse les mutations du monde chinois contemporain dans leurs aspects politiques, économiques, sociaux et culturels. Animée par des spécialistes confirmés établis de manière permanente sur le terrain, et supervisée par un comité de lecture international, la revue porte un regard scientifique sur les évolutions actuelles du monde chinois, dont elle se veut un outil de compréhension à la fois sérieux et agréable. Elle est une source d’analyses et d’information indispensable pour les spécialistes de la Chine contemporaine ainsi que ceux qui souhaitent approfondir la connaissance qu'ils en ont.

Politique étrangère
Politique étrangère, academic quarterly journal, has the ambition to give a broad and clear account of the multifaceted debate surrounding international issues, to offer thorough analyses of current global affairs, and to be a reference for academics, leaders, and civil society.

Politix. Revue des sciences sociales du politique
The review Politix intends to make empirically-grounded contributions to the thematic and theoretical renewing of political science. It therefore seeks to give priority to the dialogue between political science and other key social sciences (history, anthropology, sociology, etc) in order to fully explore the political dimension of social phenomena.

Population
Founded in 1946, Population publishes original research on population questions approached from the angles of demography and neighbouring disciplines. It is a quarterly journal, published since 2002 in both English and French.

Publications de la Maison de l'Orient et de la Méditerranée
Dès sa création en 1975, la Maison de l’Orient méditerranéen a souhaité avoir son propre Service des publications. Elle désirait en effet que le résultat des recherches pluridisciplinaires menées autour des thèmes communs fût connu autrement que par la littérature grise ou par des publications longues et coûteuses à élaborer. C’est ainsi que naquirent les collections de la Maison de l’Orient méditerranéen : TMO, CMO, DAA et récemment la série Akh Purattim.

Publications de l'École Française de Rome
L’École française de Rome est un établissement public de recherche et de formation à la recherche sous tutelle du ministère chargé de l’enseignement supérieur et de la recherche. Conçue d’abord comme relais romain de l’École française d’Athènes (1873), puis comme École d’archéologie (1874), elle est fondée en 1875 et occupe le Palais Farnèse, partagé depuis avec l’Ambassade de France en Italie.

Quaderni
La revue Quaderni se propose d'analyser les contours et contenus du champ communicationnel et ses rapports avec la technologie et le pouvoir; mais aussi d'étudier les techniques et technologies sous diverses formes y compris les biotechnologies. Quaternaire
Quaternaire was created in 1964 by the AFEQ (foundation in 1962) as the Bulletin de l'AFEQ and its name was changed to Quaternaire in 1990. This scientific journal has still four issues per year. The review publish varia issues or special issues on a particular thema and short articles or more longer synthesis articles. Papers (in French, English or German) deal with all aspects of french, european or international research about Quaternary, especially the field reports: stratigraphy, sedimentology, pedology, glaciology, oceanography, vulcanology, geomorphology, geochronology, paleoecology, palynology, paleontology and prehistory. The articles are systematically examined by a french and international editorial board. The review are systematically supported by french CNRS and sometimes by others institutions. Since January 2007 the journal has been indexed by ISI.

Recherches en Anthropologie au Portugal seeks to ensure the dissemination of Portugese scientific research and other activities in anthropology, and serves as a central organ for scientific correspondence between universities, scholars and students.

Réforme, Humanisme, Renaissance

Revue archéologique de Picardie
The Revue Archeologique de Picardie was born in 1982 from the melting of the Revue Archeologique de l’Oise, created in 1971 and the Cahiers Archeologiques de Picardie edited in Amiens since 1974. The topics mainly concern Archeaology (in practice and in thematic way)and its appendix : archeaozoology, palynology, ceramology … From the Prehistory to the Modern Ere. The Journal concerns the Picardie area (Somme, Aisne, Oise) but the border areas too.

Revue archéologique du Centre de la France
The Archaeological Review of the centre of France is one of six archaeological interregional reviews which cover the metropolitan area; its geographical domain is the Auvergne, Centre and Île-de-France regions, as well as the department of the Loire (the Rhône – Alps region). It covers the archaeology of all periods, from the most ancient prehistory up to industrial archaeology and modern times, the majority of the contributions concerning Protohistory, the Gallo-Roman period and the Middle Ages. Syria. Archéologie, Art et histoire
Syria, an annual journal, has been published uninterruptedly since 1920 by the French Institute of the Near East (Amman, Beirut, Damascus, Aleppo). The review is dedicated to the history and archaelogy of the Semitic Near East (Cyprus included) from Prehistory to the Islamic conquest. It publishes articles in all the disciplines related to this field of research, archaology, epigraphy, philology, history, art history ; these articles are sometimes gathered together in thematic issues, but usually each issue of Syria tries to give - by means of 12 to 18 articles -, a varied overview of research on the Ancient Near East. The languages in use are French, English, German, Italian, and Spanish. From time to time, the review also publishes topical notes, and normaly devotes in each issue an extensive section to reading notes on books published on the Ancient Near East.

Vingtième Siècle. Revue d'histoire
Vingtième Siècle deals with contemporary history, from the 1890s to today. Its goal is to allow readers to better understand our time by linking the results of these historical studies to questions of relevance today.
